Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, approximately 35000 Hasidic Jews took the annual pilgrimage to Uman in Ukraine this year, to mark Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Their destination: the gravesite of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, a revered spiritual leader who promised his followers that those who prayed at his tomb during the holiday would have their prayers answered. The three days of the celebration in Uman consist of both hard partying to loud techno and prayers.
